Jim Roberts 1937-2024

Jimmie Jean “Jim” Roberts, 86, Topeka, died Tuesday, March 12, 2024.

He was born Oct. 29, 1937 in Auburn, Kansas, the son of Frank and Vella Littrell Roberts. He graduated from Highland Park High School.

Mr. Roberts served in the Kansas National Guard as a heavy equipment mechanic for 37 years before retiring.

He was a member of the Tecumseh United Methodist Church.

He married Carol A. McFarland on Feb. 2, 1958, at the family home. She survives.

Other survivors include four children, Richard Roberts and wife Mary, Topeka, Randy Roberts and wife Connie, Carbondale, Steve Roberts and wife Susan, Smithville, Mo., and Susan Dallman and husband Kim, Mayetta; 11 grandchildren, Michael, Nicole, Jessica, Ryan, Jake, Elizabeth, Dana, Brett, Derek, Candace and Shelby; 28 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild on the way; and his siblings, Bob, Kay and Fran.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 19 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 S.E. Minnesota Ave., Topeka. Burial followed in Mount Hope Cemetery.
