Jere Bleier 1933-2015

Jere P. Bleier, 81, Holton, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015 at Medicalodges Jackson County in Holton.
He was born Nov. 17, 1933, in Topeka, the son of George C. and Marguerite Beseau Bleier. He graduated from Seaman High School in 1953.
Mr. Bleier served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1953 to 1955. He worked as a meat cutter after his discharge from the Army, and he and his wife owned and operated Jere's Thrif-Tee grocery store in Nortonville from 1972 to 1996, moving to Holton after their retirement.
He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Holton and Holton Knights of Columbus Council 4219.
He married Marjene Tyner on Nov. 8, 1958, at Assumption Catholic Church in Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Scott Bleier and wife Ampera, Mason City, Iowa, and Ben Bleier and wife Karen, Kansas City; two daughters, Jeanie Lollar, Oskaloosa, and Joni Bleier, Kansas City, Mo.; three grandsons; two granddaughters; and three great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, George B. Bleier, Bill Bleier and Larry Bleier.
Mass of Christian burial was held Monday at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Holton. Burial will be held at a later date.
