Jenae Claycamp 1980-2023

Jenae Marie Claycamp, 43, of Soldier, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 24, 2023, at The University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City.

She was born on March 22, 1980, at Onaga, the daughter of Brad and Sharon Henry Claycamp. She graduated from Jackson Heights High School in 2001.

Jenae was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Wetmore.

Jenae will be remembered as a loving, sweet, compassionate and kind young lady and will be dearly missed. She had a keen sense of humor and lit up the room with her sweet smile and hellos.

Jenae enjoyed doing her word find, playing cards, watching her movies, especially Christmas movies, which she watched from October to March, and loved riding the mini train at Gage Park. Jenae also helped with folding towels and setting the table for meals with enthusiasm. She welcomed each newborn cousin with excitement and was sad for the loss of any family or friends.

Jenae truly loved all her family, and her hugs and air hugs were welcomed and treasured by all who knew her. She also enjoyed walking outside with her mom and dad, and she loved nature and seeing the wildlife. She especially looked forward to family birthdays, especially her own. Jenae bravely accepted all the challenges throughout her life. She had a special place in the hearts of all who cared for her.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ervin and Lurene (Jones) Claycamp and Dorothy M. (Boeckman) Henry.

Survivors include her parents, Brad and Sharon Claycamp, of Soldier and Francis J. Henry, of Seneca; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29 at St. James Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery at Corning. Jenae will lie in state after 9 a.m. Thursday at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton, where a visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a rosary prayed at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to St. James Catholic Church, and may be sent in care of Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1034, Holton, KS 66436. Online condolences may be made at chapeloaksfuneralhome.com
