Jean Robinson 1940-2025

Jean Ellen Robinson, Hays, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2025, well loved in Wichita.

She was born Nov. 25, 1940, in Morrill to George and Mary Robinson. She gew up on a farm in Soldier, living a happy, simple life surrounded by loving parents and siblings. Jean went through school in Soldier and Clark’s Business School in Topeka, eventually earning her master of science degree in counseling from Oregon State University.

Throughout her life, she worked as a secretary, respiratory tech, nurse’s aide, minister and college professor.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary; her brother, Bryce Robinson; sisters Ann Tregellas and Alice Bowser; and a brother-in-law, Dennis Schmidt.

She is survived by her sons, James (Gretchen) Schacht, in Washington, and Mark Schacht, in Colorado; daughters, Susan (Mike) Dwyer, in Colorado, and Diane (Ken) Avenoso, in Oregon; sisters, Lucy Schmidt, Hays, and Gerri (Michael) Carlisle, Lawrence; grandchildren, Eric (Ari) Schacht, Peter Schacht, Zachary Dwyer, Caleb Dwyer, Nathan (Savannah) Dwyer, Claire Avenoso and Adele Avenoso; numerous nieces and nephews; and her soon-to-be first great-grandson.

Jean loved to garden and always had a beautiful healthy garden; she passed her zeal of gardening on to her family - a legacy they will always cherish. Jean loved the Lord and looked forward to eternal life in heaven. Jean will be remembered and loved by her family and friends and all who knew her generous caring and vibrant spirit.
