Jack Shupe 1934-2020
Jackie “Jack” E. Shupe, 86, Topeka, passed away Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020.
He was born May 14, 1934, in Netawaka, the son of Freeman and Josephine Eby Shupe.
He was a truck driver with Wilson Freight, Churchill Truck Lines, Consolidated Freight, ABF and other lines in Topeka, retiring July 1, 1994, after 42 years in the trucking industry. He was a member of Teamster Union #696 and Retirees since 1951. After retirement, he enjoyed working part-time for Ed Bozarth Chevrolet.
He married Janet L. Thomas on Jan. 7, 1956 in Holton. She survives.
Survivors include children, Eugenia (Karl) Wiggins, Leina (Rocky) Cox, Martin (Brenda) Shupe and Zanetta (Stan) Aubry; 10 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a stepgreat-grandson; siblings, Glenn and Gary Shupe and Barbara Sherrer; and a daughter-in-law, Patty Shupe. He was preceded in death by his son, Jackie Leon Shupe; and a sister, Betty Nott LaFond.
A private graveside service will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Topeka. Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel in Topeka is assisting the family.
