Irvin Bloom 1950-2014

Irvin “LeRoy” Bloom, 64, Goff, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, at Holton Community Hospital.
He was born April 17, 1950, in Goff, the son of Irvin Leo and Ida W. Niehues Bloom. He attended Bancroft Grade School and graduated from Wetmore High School in 1968.
Mr. Bloom worked for BMB/Alamo in Holton for more than 20 years and later worked for Rural Water District 4 in Wetmore. He was also a farmer and stockman.
He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Wetmore.
Survivors include two sisters, Linda Gerhardt and husband David, Holton, and Ginger Meyer and husband Dale, Wetmore; a brother, Ron Bloom and wife Linda, Goff; and five nieces and seven nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary Bloom.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. James Catholic Church in Wetmore. Burial will follow in Wetmore Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton with visitation to follow.
