Harry Scott 1946-2023

Harry Mac Scott, of Cypress, Texas, passed away on June 22, 2023.

Mac was born January 2, 1946, in Holton, to Dorothea Jane Scott and Harry August Scott. Mac was the eighth of nine children.

Mac was raised on his family’s farm in Wetmore. He attended Kansas State University and Northwestern University. He was a First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force.

Mac married Beverly Jane Wist on Dec. 11, 1971, in Auburn, Neb. They lived in Omaha, Neb., Chicago, Ill., and Cypress, Texas.

Mac is survived by his wife of 51 years, Bev Scott; a son, Aaron Mac Scott (Jennifer); a daughter, Amanda Jane Brautigam (Matt); and five grandchildren. Kenneth and Obediah Scott, Beau, Brynnley and Brylee Brautigam.

Mac is also survived by his sisters and brother, Elaine Suther of New Carlisle, Ohio, Bob Scott of Holton and Ruth Glenn of Wetmore and many cousins, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ivan, Gene and Jim; and sisters Beth Bohannon and Marvel McDaniel.

A memorial services honoring his life was held July 10 at Brookside Funeral Home Cypress Creek in Houston, Texas.
