Harold Lewis 1928-2023

Harold L. Lewis, 95, Mayetta, formerly of Holton, died Monday, June 26, 2023, at his daughter’s home with family by his side.

He was born March 2, 1928, in Balch, Ark., the son of Thomas Richard and Ader Belle Gill Lewis. He had lived in the Jackson County community since 1960.

Mr. Lewis retired from Jackson County Road and Bridge after 10 years.

He married Allie May Brandon on Dec. 25, 1947, in Arkansas. She died Nov. 8, 1987. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ader Lewis; a son, Bobby Lewis; and four siblings.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Bryan and Patsy Lundin and husband John, all of Mayetta; a sister, Stella Mae Ferris, Billings, Mont.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, July 6 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
