Guy Hedrick 1955-2025
Guy E. Hedrick, 69, of Holton, passed away Friday, Sept. 26, 2025, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.
He was born Dec. 9, 1955, in Montebello, Calif., the son of Jack and Ruthanna (Dittemore) Hedrick.
Guy graduated from Highland High School in 1974. He proudly served in the United States Army National Guard.
He worked for 35 years at Frito-Lay as a driver, shagger and mechanic, retiring in 2020.
Guy was an elder for the Community of Christ Church. He served as a board member for JCMA and volunteered with his wife, Darla, for the New Hope Food Pantry.
He married Darla K. Whetstine on Dec. 22, 1975, in Fanning. They celebrated more than 49 years of marriage.
Survivors include his wife, Darla, of the home; three sons, Chad E. Hedrick (Krissy), Eric C. Hedrick and Bryan M. Hedrick (Rebecca), all of Topeka; five sisters, Cynthia Sweet of Scottsdale, Ariz., Elizabeth Rudder (John) of Leavenworth, Jacki Vidicki of Los Angeles, Calif., Arvilla Walters (Leonard) of Peculiar, Mo., and Deanna Tate (Robert) of Leonardville; eight grandchildren, Kadi (Lawson), Tailyr, Makenna, Teagan, Skye, Delaney, Tierney and Bo; and two great-grandchildren, Leia and Lance.
Memorial services with military honors will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service time.
