Glenda Lamme 1940-2023
Glenda Lamme, 83, Holton, formerly of Topeka, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023, at her home.
She was born Sept. 8, 1940, in Joplin, Mo., the daughter of Glenn and Frederica Lambeth Blankenship. She had lived in Holton since 1997. She attended school in Joplin, Mo., and at Kansas State Teachers College in Pittsburg.
Mrs. Lamme worked as an accountant for the State of Kansas and later for the hotel at Prairie Band Casino.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Holton, Daughters of the American Revolution and a charter member of the Great Plains Balloon Club.
She married George H. “Gary” Lamme on Nov. 29, 1959, in Joplin, Mo. He died Nov. 26, 1992. She also was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bob Blankenship and his wife Marlene and William “Bill” Blankenship.
Survivors include two sons, Gordon Lamme and wife Carol and Garin Lamme, all of Holton; three grandchildren, Ashlee York and husband Chris, Darien McKeown and husband Seth and Abbie Lamme and fiancé Torin Kaboudan; three great-grandsons, Bryson, Ashton and Camden; and two great-granddaughters, Demi and Emilia.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16 at First Baptist Church in Holton. Private inurnment will be held later in Spring Hill Cemetery at Whiting.
