Floyd Teetzel 1951-2023

Earl Floyd Teetzel, 71, of Mayetta, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023, at the Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.
He was born Dec. 3, 1951, at Holton, the son of Earl and Mary Gerety Teetzel. He graduated from Denison High School and served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve.
Floyd was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Mayetta and Mayetta Knights of Columbus Council 9535.
He worked for Mid American Machine & Equipment as a field service engineer and retired from there in 2019.
Floyd married Janie A. Fuqua on June 15, 1974, at the church in Mayetta. She preceded him in death on Jan. 5, 2022.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Abella Rose Teetzel; and a sister, Margaret Kerr.
Survivors include a son, Sean Teetzel (Tracy), Hoyt; three daughters, Jackie Gunn, Topeka, Carrie Jo Queen (Jeff), Bellevue, Neb., and Melinda Filbert (Aaron), Hoyt; one sister, Anne Dye, Topeka; 10 grandchildren, Jazzmyne, Mariah, Emilee, Gracie, Azarias, Manuel, Oliver, Augustus, AnnieJo and Abram; and three great grandchildren, Aries, Abel and Aniaya.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Mayetta Cemetery. Floyd will lie in state after 9 a.m. Monday at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt, where visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
