Farrell Snyder 1938-2024
Farrell Snyder, 85, Topeka, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024, at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha.
He was born Nov. 2, 1938, in the family home outside of Morrill, the son of Virgil and Iva Snyder. He attended school locally.
Mr. Snyder wrote computer software for Blue Cross Blue Shield in Topeka and for Southwestern Bell Telephone. He also worked at St. Ann’s Church in Hiawatha. He and his family lived in Topeka, Prairie Village, DeSoto, St. Louis, Mo., and Hiawatha, and he moved to Mayetta and later to Topeka after retiring.
He married Judy Stowell on Aug. 9, 1958. She died in 2016. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bob and Doug Snyder; and a sister, Donna Rosenberger.
Survivors include his children, Kerry Meredith and husband Parrish, Overland Park, Kent Snyder and wife Amy, Holton, and Kellie Brockhoff and husband Mike, Fairview; five grandchildren, Rael Meredith, Charles Snyder, Kelcy Snyder, Casey Zangaro and Megan Brockhoff; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Stowell, SCL.
Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12 at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha. Mr. Snyder will be laid to rest next to his wife in Morrill Cemetery following a short service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
