Durinda Jacobson 1952-2023

Durinda “Dee” Jean Jacobson, 71, Mayetta, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023, at her home.

She was born Jan. 1, 1952, the daughter of Lowell D. and Helen Jean Lovett Walker. She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1970.

Mrs. Jacobson was a licensed mental health technician for more than 10 years at the Menninger Hospital in Topeka. She was also a mental health technician for more than five years at Topeka State Hospital and a special education school bus para for the Royal Valley school district for more than 12 years.

She married Charles A. Jacobson on Sept. 1, 1986, in Topeka. He survives.

Other survivors include four daughters, Stacie Engstom and husband Joe, Milton, Fla., Ginny Jacobson, Osage City, Janell Jacobson, Kansas City, and Jaclyn Palone and husband Tim, Oklahoma City, Okla.; a sister, Susan DeLong and husband Larry, Burlington; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

No memorial services are planned at this time.
