Dorothy Wade 1927-2019

Dorothy L. Wade, 92, formerly of Grantville, died Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Lexington Park Assisted Living in Topeka.

She was born Feb. 13, 1927, in Holton, the daughter of Roy Daugherty and Ruth Gibson Daugherty. She graduated from Circleville High School in 1944.

She married Eugene Wade on April 11, 1948. He died Feb. 14, 2008. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Wilma Kissel and Mildred Tannahill. 

She was a member of Grantville United Methodist Church, where she held several offices. She was also a member of Grantville United Methodist Women. 

Survivors include two children, Kathy Wade Gordon and Kevin Wade and wife Cathie; a sister, Bernice Stirton; four grandchildren, Jaime Winkel and husband Jeff, Tyler Wade and wife Annie, Katie Selk and Ryan Selk; and three great-grandchildren, Ellie and Carter Wade and Layne Winkel. 

Memorial services were held Saturday at Grantville United Methodist Church, 3724 South St., Grantville. Private burial was held in Grantville Cemetery. Parker-Price Funeral Home, 245 N.W. Independence Ave., Topeka, is in charge of arrangements.
