Dolores Hawley 1942-2024

Dolores “D.J.” Hawley, 82, Wetmore, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

She was born June 20, 1942, in Oakland, Calif., the daughter of Francisco and Josefina (Barrera) Jimenez. She graduated from Oakland Tech High School in 1960.

Mrs. Hawley worked for Immigration and Naturalization Services (INS) for 12 years in San Francisco, Calif. She retired in 2001 after 36 years with Sears.

She married Russell Gene Hawley on Aug. 21, 1989, in Minden, Nev. He survives.

Other survivors include a sister-in-law, Violet Hintzman and husband David, Menomonie, Wisc.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Franciso and Josefina Jimenez; six sisters; and two brothers.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
