Debra Mullin 1956-2017
Debra Ann (Lavin) Mullin, 61, Topeka, lost the fight to cancer and passed away at her home on June 28, 2017.
She was born Feb. 8, 1956, in San Francisco, Calif., the daughter of Marvin (Dale) Lavin Sr. and Antoinette (Lazaro) Roberts. Debra graduated from Royal Valley High School in 1974.
Debra married Richard A. Mullin in 1974. They resided in Hoyt, where they raised their two children, Misty (Jerid) Brobst and Joshua (Jamie) Mullin. In 2000, Debra moved to Topeka and built a home that she shared with her partner, Duane “Dan” Hunter.
She was a member of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. She actively enjoyed interior design and spending time with friends and family.
Debra is survived by three grandchildren, Devin Bailey, Jordan Bailey, and Triston Brobst; her brother, John (Terri) Lavin; niece, Marina; nephews, Jason (Chris), Cody and Jarrett; her mother and her stepfather, Larry Roberts. Debra was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Marvin Dale Lavin Jr.
A celebration of Debra’s life will be held Saturday, July 15. The family welcomes visitors to come by her home, 1400 N.W. 86th St., Topeka, KS 66618, and share stories and memories with them any time after 2 p.m.
