David Myers 1938-2025

David Leonard Myers, 87, Leavenworth, formerly of Holton, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025, at Dwight D. Eisenhower Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Leavenworth.

He was born Feb. 1, 1938, in Soldier, the son of Thomas and Helen Swanson Myers. He earned his GED.

Mr. Myers served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1960.

He was a member of American Legion Post 44.

He married Lola Seamands in 1961; she died in 1987. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Helen Myers; two sisters, Rosemary Scheid and Barbara Jean Ramsey; two brothers, William and Thomas Myers; and a son-in-law, James Stewart.

Survivors include two children, Russell Myers and wife Sandra, Solvang, Calif., and Kimberly Stewart, Leavenworth; and two grandsons, Christopher Stewart, Leavenworth, and Brian Stewart, Brown Mills, N.J.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15 at Olive Hill Cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements.
