David Mast 1950-2026

David Morgan Mast, 76, Goff, died Friday, March 27, 2026, at Amberwell Hiawatha Hospital.

He was born Feb. 4, 1950, in Lawrence, the son of Herman Jr. and Lorena E. Camp Mast. He graduated from Lawrence High School and attended Fort Scott Community College.

Mr. Mast worked in maintenance at a meat packing plant. He also worked as a stock contractor and attended and worked several National Final Rodeos in Las Vegas, Nev.

He married Martha Fay Talley. They later divorced.

Survivors include a son, Lloyd “Michael” Mast and wife Molly L., Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Herman Mast III and wife Linda, Winchester, Va.; two grandsons, Carter and Lawson Mast; and two nieces, Bronwyn and Erin Mast.
