Darla Hanks 1955-2020

Darla Kay Hanks, 64, Holton, died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020, at The University of Kansas Health System-St. Francis Campus.

She was born Dec. 15, 1955, in Wamego, the daughter of Louis and Lucille Elaine Bachman Bonner.

Ms. Hanks was a CNA, a CMA and a restorative aide. She worked for the Dechairo Hospital and Westmoreland Community Care, both in Westmoreland, and Wharton Manor in Manhattan.

She married Robert Hanks. They later divorced.

Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Hanks, Holton; a sister, JoAnn Douglas, Stillwater, Okla.; a brother, Bill Bonner, Las Vegas, Nev.; two stepgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a stepson, Robby Hanks; a sister, Beverly Bonner; and a brother, Darrell Bonner.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 13 at First Christian Church in Holton. Burial will be held at a later date in Westmoreland Cemetery.
