Dale Morgan 1948-2023

Dale Richard Morgan, 75, of Horton and formerly of Whiting, passed away Monday, June 26, 2023, at Anew Healthcare and Rehab of Horton.

He was born Feb. 29, 1948, in Holton, the son of Laurel Robert and Geraldine (Schuetz) Morgan.

Dale attended Whiting and Holton schools. He served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany, during the Vietnam War. Most of his life he was a home health caregiver, but he also worked security for the Golden Eagle and Sac and Fox casinos.

He married Cindy Smith and they lived in the Twin Cities in Minnesota, Bella Vista, Ark., and Hutchinson. Cindy and their son Jim preceded him in death. He was also predeceased by his older brother Jerry, his parents and his fiancée, Heide Watkins. Heide and Dale resided together on the family farm where Dale grew up.

Survivors include his sister, Dyana Morgan (Stacey) of Holton, and his stepchildren, Marcus, Monica, Zac and Genna and their families. He loved his grandchildren very much.

Dale was an avid fisherman and hunter; he loved his yearly turkey leg from the Renaissance Festival and took great pride in his son Jimmy’s ’55 Chevy.

Per Dale’s wishes he was cremated and there will be no service. A celebration of his life will be scheduled at a later date.
