Charlotte Brock 1962-2019
Charlotte Kay Brock, 56, of Olsburg, formerly of Holton, passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer, with family by her side, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.
She was born July 24, 1962, in Topeka, the daughter of Melvin Ernest and Clara May (Meloy) Pendleton.
Charlotte graduated from Holton High School in 1981 as valedictorian. She worked for the District Court Office in Jackson County until 1993 and previously in the County Extension Office and County Clerk’s Office. Charlotte also helped her husband, Stan, on the family farm.
She was a former member of Reformed Presbyterian Church in Denison, First Presbyterian Church and First United Methodist Church, both in Holton. Charlotte was a current member of University Christian Church in Manhattan.
Charlotte married Stanton “Stan” Dale Brock on April 7, 1984, in Holton. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Matthew Brock (Alyssa) of Pullman, Wash., and Cody Brock (Darien) of Onaga; two sisters, Carol Morse of Divide, Colo., and Cheryl Ness (Keith) of Meriden; a brother, Ed Pendleton of Holton; and two grandchildren, Emma Kay Brock (Matt and Alyssa’s daughter) and Wade Stanton Brock (Cody and Darien’s son). She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Clara Pendleton.
Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17 at First United Methodist Church in Holton. There will be a reception and meal following at the church. Private family burial will be held at a later date in Holton Cemetery.
