Carolyn Walker 1958-2015
Carolyn Ruth Boyd Walker, 56, Gorokan, New South Wales, Australia, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015, at a hospital in Wyong, New South Wales.
She was born Dec. 8, 1958, in Holton, the son of J. Raymond and Winona Lewis Boyd. She graduated from Centralia High School in 1976 and from the Christ Unlimited Bible Institute in 1981.
Mrs. Walker worked for Big Brothers/Big Sisters in Topeka in a secretarial role and was involved with them in mentoring girls. She had lived in Australia since 2006.
She married Ross Walker on Oct. 1, 2006. He survives.
Other survivors include four brothers, David E. Boyd and wife Sharon, Montrose, Colo., John R. Boyd Jr. and wife Lois, Circleville, and Charles S. Boyd and wife Cathy and Jared R. Boyd and wife Leslie, all of Holton; nine nephews; and two nieces.
A memorial service will be held Monday morning at Mackay Family Crematorium, Ourimbah, New South Wales, Australia. A local memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday at North Topeka Baptist Church. Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton is handling local arrangements.
