Bob Arnold 1948-2022
Robert Duane “Bob” Arnold, 73, of Circleville, passed away Friday, Feb. 4, 2022, at Onaga Hospital (Community Healthcare System).
He was born Oct. 30, 1948, in Holton, the son of Wendal Clarence Arnold and Thelma “Maxine” (Wilkerson) Lewis.
Bob graduated from Circleville High School in 1966. He worked for the State of Kansas in the Maintenance Dept., Bill Gray Construction, HLX Trucking in Holton and Thompson Implement-John Deere, also in Holton. He retired in 2003 from Goodyear Tire Company.
He was a member of Circleville Christian Church and a charter member of Circleville Saddle Club.
Bob married Laura “Jeannie” Butler on April 5, 1970, in Circleville. They celebrated more than 51 years of marriage.
Survivors include his wife, Jeannie, of the home; his mother, Maxine Lewis of Holton; daughter, Lori Burdick of Circleville; granddaughter, Bailey Burdick of Circleville; brother, Merlin L. Arnold (Judy) of Holton; two half-brothers, Tom Arnold (Ann) of Topeka and Tim Arnold of Belton, Mo.; and three half-sisters, Sue Bayless (Darrell) of Topeka, Judy Menge (Joe) of Peculiar, Mo., and Jody Wilson (Rick) of Raymore, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wendal Arnold; a son, Randy Robert Arnold, on June 19, 2002; a granddaughter, Afton Burdick, on Feb. 17, 2017; an infant brother, Randy Arnold; a brother, Ricky J. Arnold; and his stepfather, Bob Lewis.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in Circleville Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
