Beverly Bennett 1938-2017

A celebration of life for Beverly Mae Bennett, 78, Lawrence, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 10 at 1013 E. 1256 Road, Lawrence.

She was born Dec. 19, 1938, to Roy Gerald and Wanda R. (Dayton) Bennett in Gooding, Idaho, and died June 5, 2017, in Baldwin City.

Beverly is survived by her daughter Teresa (Bennett) Butell and husband Brad; four grandchildren, Lucas Charles Straub, Nathaniel Dean Straub, Alexandria Grace Straub and Michael Solomon Shawn Straub; a sister, Billie Jo Barner and husband Keith, Bozeman, Mont.; and a brother, Michael Bennett and wife Carolyn, Las Vegas, Nev.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Shawn Taylor Rakes, sisters Betty Davis and Shirlee Hampton and brothers Bobby Bennett and Floyd “Ben” Bennett.
