Ben Hall 1954-2025

Benjamin Dale “Ben” Hall, 71, Holton, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025, at his home with family by his side.
He was born Jan. 17, 1954, in Holton, the son of Benjamin J. “B.J.” and Doris Ione Hollenbeck Hall. He graduated from Lansing High School.
Mr. Hall served in the U.S. Air Force from 1973 to 1993, during Vietnam and Desert Storm. He worked as a jailer in Brown County, assistant police chief for Sac and Fox, security guard and later slot attendant at Harrah’s/Prairie Band Casino and a paint and hardware department manager at Home Depot. He retired from Walmart in the lawn and garden department.
He was a member of Holton VFW Post 1367 and Holton American Legion Post 44.
He married Monessa Lyrae Preslar on Feb. 8, 1999, in Holton. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Quentin Hall and wife Julie, Gardner, and Lucas Hall; two stepdaughters, Casandra Pixler and Amanda Pixler, both of Manhattan; and 13 grandchildren, Devin, Eva, Austin, Theoden, Emma, Garrett, Landon, Corbin, Willow, Abbigail, Christopher, Charleston and Kaiya. He was preceded in death by his parents, B.J. and Doris Hall; and a son, Benjamin Travis Hall.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 4 in Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Mr. Hall will lie in state from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, March 3 at the funeral home.
