Beau Wiggins 1950-2024
Larry “Beau” Edwin Wiggins, 74, of Goff, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, in his home surrounded by his wife and children.
Beau was born in Horton to Gerald and Ann (Grayson) Wiggins on Sept. 1, 1950, and grew up in Goff.
Beau attended Goff schools and then graduated from Wetmore High School in May 1969. After high school, he worked numerous jobs, including Oldham’s Meat Packaging Plant and Wenger Manufacturing and then retired from Henry Brothers Farms in January 2023 after working for more than 20 years.
Beau married the love of his life, Barbara J. Willich, on July 21, 1979. She survives in the home.
Beau is also survived by his son, Josh (Jenny) of Holton; a daughter, Lacie Wiggins of Topeka; six grandsons, Korbyn, Maddox, Asher, Lincoln, Ryker and Hank; and three sisters, Sharon of Centralia, Kay of South Dakota and Marilyn of Michigan.
Beau enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, attending their numerous games and activities. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and cruising around in his side-by-side buggy. In his younger years, he enjoyed classic cars and motorcycles and was a member of the Kansas Reapers Motorcycle Club. Beau never met a stranger and loved to tell his stories. Most of all, Beau was a dedicated family man and loved being around his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Beau was also preceded in death by his uncle, Kenny Wiggins; brother, Pat Kiernan; sister-in-law, Ann Willich Smith; brother-in-law, Corky Channel; and nephew, Brian Willich.
Family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Memorial graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23 at St. Peters Cemetery north of Mercier.
