Allen Wichman 1951-2017
Allen Dean Wichman, 66, Topeka, formerly of Holton, died Friday, July 14, 2017, as a result of injuries sustained as the victim of a home invasion.
He was born May 19, 1951, in Clay Center, the son of Ernest F. and Patricia F. Pickett Wichman. He graduated from Holton High School and Kaw Area Vocational Technical School in 1969.
Mr. Wichman was an automotive body repairman and mechanic for many garages, including Vic Simon’s in Holton and First Class Auto Glass in Topeka. He had owned and operated Champion Auto Glass in Topeka for a few years. He also worked as a roofer for many construction companies.
Survivors include a son, Vance Spiker and wife Caramie, Lyndon; two sisters, Carol Searles and husband Rob Rolin, Denison, and Amy Spiker and husband Jared, Holton; two brothers, Verlin Wichman and wife Sue, Holton, and Kevin Wichman and wife Sandy, Circleville; a sister-in-law, Cheryl Wichman. Holton; and two grandchildren, Kylie and Andrew. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Gregory Allen Wichman; his father, Ernest F. Wichman, in 1996; his mother, Patricia F. Wichman, in 2017; and a brother, Dale Wichman, in 2016.
Family will greet friends from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, July 23 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton, with Blair Wagner to speak at the start of the visitation. Cremation will follow.
