Virginia Monson 1941-2025

Virginia Frances Monson, 83, Hiawatha, formerly of Holton, died Friday, March 14, 2025, at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Hiawatha.

She was born Sept. 24, 1941, in Granada, the daughter of Leonard Andrew and Doris Irene Guffy Adams. She attended Wetmore High School.

Mrs. Monson was a homemaker and housewife.

She was a member of Larkinburg Christian Church.

She married Russell “Stanley” Monson on Oct. 11, 1958. He died June 3, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Doris Adams; a sister, Carol Naftzger; and a brother, Harold Adams.

Survivors include two sons, Bradley Monson and wife Loree, Everest, and Brian Monson and wife Mitzi, Overland Park; a daughter, Shari Brown and husband Ron, Richmond, Minn.; a sister, Sharon Bohannon and husband Bill, Denison; 19 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5 at Larkinburg Christian Church.
