Larry Dean 1952-2025

Larry Eugene Dean, 72, Holton, formerly of Wetmore, died Monday, March 3, 2024, at his home.

He was born Nov. 24, 1952, in Sabetha, the son of Robert V. and Elizabeth A. Wyatt Dean. He attended Granada and Wetmore grade schools and later earned his GED.

Mr. Dean served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1979, during the Vietnam War. He worked for George Achten as a farmhand, cattleman and repairing fence. He also mowed and maintained the Granada Cemetery.

He was a member of Wetmore United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Elizabeth Dean; three sisters, Barbara Hughes, Mary Krevanko and Viola Jensen; and three brothers, Robert, Frank and Richard Dean.

He is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Graveside inurnment will be held at a later date. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements.
