Larry Clark 1947-2024

Larry Dean Clark, 77, Holton, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, at Anew Healthcare and Rehab of Jackson County in Holton.

He was born Jan. 20, 1947, in Winfield, the son of Lewis and Neoma Moore Clark. He graduated from Eureka High School in 1965 and attended Butler County Community College.

Mr. Clark served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968, serving in the 18th Combat Engineer Brigade that electrified fencing on the Demilitarized Zone in Korea. He worked as a firefighter for the Arkansas City Fire Department from 1968 to 1979, then worked for Total Petroleum in Arkansas City from 1980 to 1996. He also owned and operated Ark City Fencing from 1968 to 1980.

He married Bianca Sue Teague on Dec. 28, 1978, in Miami, Okla. She died June 6, 2024. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Murphy; and two brother, Lewis and Robert Clark.

Survivors include four children, Jason Wood and wife Amanda, Wildwood, Mo., Sandy Marshall and husband Rodney, Dixon, Mo., Tracy Clark and wife Christi, Coatesville, Pa., and Terry Clark and wife Kim, Holton; two sisters-in-law, Becky Benning, Arkansas City, and Lydia Teague, Morrilton, Ark.; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Family inurnment with military honors will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Parker Family Cemetery in Arkansas City.
