Cheryl Blevins 1945-2024
Cheryl Zibell Blevins, 78, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at Anew Healthcare Nursing Home in Holton.
She was born June 21, 1945, at Holton, the daughter of Robert and Lorene Eulert Zibell. She graduated from Holton High School, and later from Washburn University with a business degree.
Cheryl was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Topeka.
She had many business interests in her lifetime. She and her brother owned and operated Grandmother’s Bar in Topeka. She had also operated a liquor store, an antique store, had rental property and sold jewelry. She retired from Stormont-Vail Hospital as the emergency room ward clerk.
Cheryl was also an author, as she and her cousin had written a book on quilting.
She married Jeffrey L. Blevins on Jan. 10, 1995. He survives, of the home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lorene Zibell.
Other survivors include her godchildren, Grace, Katie and Jack Etzel; one brother, Robert Zibell (Lois), Steamboat Springs, Colo.; and one sister, Barbara Dreier (Wayne), in the St. Louis area.
Cheryl will lie in state on Tuesday, May 28 at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton, where a visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The casket will remain closed. Private burial will be held at a later date in Buck’s Grove Cemetery.
