Diana Fate 1967-2024

Diana Marie Fate, 57, of Holton, went to her heavenly home Friday, May 17, 2024, at her home with her family by her side.

Diana was born March 30, 1967, in Elko, Nev., the daughter of Homer Samuel and Ellen Josephine (Barber) Nixon. She lived in Elko until 1979. She graduated from Belleville High School in 1985 and received her bachelor of education degree from Washburn University in 1994.

In addition to being a mother and homemaker, Diana taught school at Royal Valley from 1994 to 1997, Jackson Heights from 2003 to 2005 and at Holton from 2005 to 2022. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Holton.

Diana married her high school sweetheart, Don Fate, on Jan. 24, 1987, in Manhattan.

She is survived by her husband, Don, her son, Zachary Fate (Samantha), her daughter, Mallory Fate (Lane Lassiter) and her mother, Ellen Nixon, all of Holton; her brother, Howard Nixon; and a granddaughter, Ava Diana Fate. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Ray Nixon.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 22 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Holton. A celebration of life will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, May 24 at the Holton Country Club. There will be a guest book available to sign at Mercer Funeral Home, at the church and at the country club.
