Amy Plankinton 1980-2024

Amy Marie Plankinton, 43, of Holton, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024, at her home.

Amy was born in Topeka on Aug. 4, 1980, to Jerry Keith Trautloff and Susan Marie Larson.

Amy graduated from Hiawatha High School in 1999. Amy did online college at Bryan University, becoming a medical office assistant. Amy was a former member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Hiawatha.

Amy worked at NEK-CAP in Holton as an assistant teacher before getting a job at the Holton Community Hospital, where she did registration until the time of her passing.

Amy married Russell Lorrence Plankinton on March 15, 2000.

Amy is survived by her mom and best friend, Susan Larson of Holton; her three sons who were her world, Justin, Cody and Michael, all of the home; her Boston Terrier, Gunner; a brother, Shawn Trautloff and wife Misty of Horton; nieces, Cora Kohl of Norfolk, Neb., and Chelsey Trautloff of Kansas City, Mo.; a nephew, Jerry Trautloff and wife Allie of Hutchinson; great-nieces, Jesika and Kimberlyn Kohl; great-nephews, Tanner Trautloff and one on the way; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Amy was preceded in death by her father, Jerry; her maternal grandparents; and uncles Johnny, Clifford and Jim.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 9 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at a later date.
