Jessica Henson and Baylie Henson
Jessica Rae Henson, 43, of Wamego, formerly of the Goff/Wetmore area, and her daughter, Baylie Reanna Henson, 10, of Wamego, were both called to heaven on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023.
Jessica was born Dec. 5, 1980, in Topeka, to Rick and Joleen Kirk. Jessica grew up in the Goff/Wetmore area and graduated from Wetmore High School with the class of 1999.
She was united in marriage to Del Henson in 2003 and later divorced. They had three children together.
Jessica was a caregiver her whole life. She was licensed as a certified nurses aide at 16 and worked at several nursing facilities, spreading her love to the elderly that she took care of. She took care of friends and family in their homes. She was also a primary caregiver for her mother while she was in hospice.
Jessica loved to have fun and enjoyed camping with her family, listening to live music, attending festivals and carnivals and spending time with her family near and far.
Survivors include her son, Ayden, 16, of the home; father Rick of Goff; brother Sam of Goff; companion Jessie of the home; close friend Del of Wamego; grandmother Mary Ann of Goff; nephews Wyatt, Noah and Theodore and niece Allyson; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Whitney; mother, Joleen; and grandparents Clarence and Goldie Faunce and Walter Kirk.
Baylie was born May 8, 2013, in Montana, and shortly after, she and her family moved back to Kansas. She lived in Wamego most of her life.
Baylie attended Wamego Elementary School most of her life and had many friends. She loved to have fun with her friends and family. She was close with her cousin Allyson and her brother Ayden and she absolutely adored and loved spending time with her grandpa Rick and Uncle Sam.
In Baylie’s spare time she liked to paint, liked anime and TikTok and loved her Takis. She was also into theater and was recently in a musical called Music Man Jr. She also enjoyed soccer and cheer. Although it was constantly changing, some of the things Baylie showed interest in were being an actress, being a fashion designer and photography.
Survivors include her brother, Ayden, 16, of the home; father Del of Wamego; grandfather Rick of Goff; grandmother Doris Henson; uncle Sam of Goff; Jessie, of the home; great-grandmother Mary of Goff; close cousins Wyatt, Noah, Theodore and Allyson; and several other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her sister, Whitney; and grandmother, Joleen.
Funeral services for both Jessica and Baylie will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29 at Campanella and Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, with Pastor Rick Hernandez officiating.
