Elenora Starr 1932-2023

Elenora Evelyn Starr, 91, of Topeka, formerly of Holton, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023, at Topeka Presbyterian Manor.

She was born Jan. 7, 1932, in Marysville, the daughter of Guy L. and Eula (Plattner) Roudybush.

Elenora lived for more than 70 years in the Holton community. She retired from the State of Kansas in the Department of Revenue. She was a member of the First Christian Church and V.F.W. Women’s Auxiliary, both of Holton.

She married Marvin L. Starr on Feb. 16, 1947, in Soldier. He preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 2013, after more than 65 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Eula Roudybush; two sisters, Pat Dekat and Verlla Roudybush; four brothers, Leonard, Larry, Norman and Howard Roudybush; and a son-in-law, Randy Harshaw.

Survivors include two sons, Raymond Starr (Sherri) of Topeka and James Starr (Cleo) of Meriden; two daughters, Debra Harshaw of Topeka and Kathy Jeanneret (Mark) of Topeka; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Private family inurnment will be held at a later date. A guestbook will be available at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
