Susan Philbrick 1953-2023

Susan “Sue” Jean Barta Philbrick, 69, Wichita, died Friday, April 21, 2023.

She was born July 31, 1953, in Pittsburg, the daughter of Mary Katharine Harris and Edward Hugo Barta.

Survivors include a daughter, Carrie Dawn Philbrick; siblings, Sharon Katharine Zibell and husband Bill Stolzenberger, Charles “Chuck” Willis Hurd III and wife Diana, Sheila Kathrine Omega Compton, Sandy Faye Halloran, Jo Nelle Greenwalt and husband Nick and Alice Granillo and husband David; grandchildren, Anthony Luis Gonzalez and wife Veronica Calderon, Shelbie Diane Harris and husband Tyler Knapp, Kaylee Marie Philbrick-Theuerkauf and husband Ryan and Arabelle Jasmine Gonzalez and husband Tanner Cantrell; great-grandchildren Dominic, Noah, Evalyn, Cash, Hendrix, Tyler, Axel, Savannah and a baby girl on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband, William Paul Philbrick; son, Troy Edward Philbrick; father, Edward Hugo Barta; mother, Mary Katharine Harris; and brothers, Robert Eugene Hurd and James Lee Hurd.
