Messers to celebrate 60th wedding anniversary
Longtime Soldier residents Howard and Kay Messer, now of Mound City, Mo., will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a luncheon at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18, at Soldier Community Hall hosted by their family.
Following the lunch at 2:30 p.m., there will be live music at the Soldier Christian Church annex. The music will include a selection of Howard and Kay’s favorite country/western, The Everly Brothers and contemporary worship songs.
Friends and family are all welcome to attend the luncheon and the music celebration.
The couple was married Aug. 31, 1962, in Minneola. Their children area Doey and Lori Messer of Soldier, Brian and Kelly Messer of Mound City, Mo., Lowell and Marcy Messer of Smithville, Mo. and Loren Messer of Mound City, Mo. They have 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
