Larry Anderson 1945-2022

Larry Dean Anderson, 76, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at his home.

He was born Sept. 3, 1945, in Holton, the son of Charles W. and Lucille Carpenter Anderson. He graduated from Denison High School in 1964.

Larry was career military, beginning with the Army National Guard in 1964. He was active duty United States Army from 1968 to 1977 and later served again in the National Guard, retiring in 2005 as E-7 Sergeant First Class. He also worked for PTMW in Topeka from 1998 to 2013.

Larry was married to Virginia Ann Adams on July 12, 1968, at Circleville Christian Church in Circleville. She survives of the home.

He is also survived by his daughters, Lori Bailey, Tammy Pummill (Ronnie) and Stephanie Hiser (Derek), all of Topeka; his son, Robert Anderson of Topeka; his sisters, Jean Bauerle of Vassar and Charlene Anderson of Kansas; his grandchildren, Jae Kennedy (Ronnie), Tarren Asuncion, LeToni Anderson, Kayla Anderson, Kris Wolfe, Kelsey Wolfe, Brianna Jones, Mason Hiser, Jaelynn Hiser and Whitney Harvey; and great-grandchildren, Onaliza Anderson, Jason Tibbits, Kamle Harvey, Everleigh Anderson and Bailey Asuncion.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Brandon Asuncion; his sister, Frances Boyce; and his brother, Gary Anderson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 25 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Havensville Cemetery. He will lie in state beginning Friday afternoon at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. The family will greet friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
