Glenda Dachenhausen 1938-2022

Glenda Lee Dachenhausen, 84, Chapman, died Friday, April 1, 2022, at Memorial Hospital in Abilene.

She was born Feb. 5, 1938, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Francis LeRoy and Cleo Mae Vaught Shockey. She attended Junction City schools.

Mrs. Dachenhausen was a daycare provider for more than 30 years, as well as a homemaker and housewife.

She attended First United Methodist Church in Chapman. 

She married Ronald “Gene” Dachenhausen on April 11, 1968, in Miami, Okla. He survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Sara Dachenhausen, Chapman, and Debbie Gladden and husband Matt, Lee’s Summit, Mo.; two sons, Spike Dachenhausen and wife Kelly, Langley, Okla., and David Gladden, Melvindale, Mich.; a sister, Patricia Pearcy and husband Richard, Orlando, Fla.; five grandchildren, Jenny, Justin, David, Ty and Dane; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Cleo Shockey; and a sister, Barbara Shockey.

Memorial services will be held at a later date in Holton Cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements.
