Vincent Wherry 1941-2022

Vincent Forrest Wherry, 80, Liberty, Mo., died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2022 at Liberty Hospital, Liberty, Mo.

He was born June 16, 1941, in Tiffin, Ohio. He was the son of George and Frances (Courter) Wherry.

Vincent worked many years for the Kansas Department of Transportation.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church. His interests included singing in the church choir, square dancing, cars and following his favorite sports teams. He will be missed by his family and many friends, including his Wendy’s group.

Survivors include his siblings, John Wherry, LaCrosse, Mary Anne Wherry, Fort Collins, Colo., Margaret Wilson (Jerry), Plainville, Eleanor Wherry (Kim Brainard), Plainville, and Barbara Scala (Bill), Duncan, S.C. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Aliene Wherry, Edmund, Okla., and friend Shirley Ardery, Liberty, Mo. The surviving nieces and nephews include Todd (Lanese) Wherry, Olathe, Tonya Howden (Kevin), Vicksburg, Mich., Kyle Wherry (Debi), LaCrosse, Chad Wherry, Osborne, Rebecca Rowlison (Sam), Fort Collins, Colo., Kelly Hicks (Creighton), Austin, Texas, and Angela Curtis (James), Edmond, Okla.

Vincent was preceded in death by his parents, George and Frances (Courter) Wherry; his brother, Robert Wherry; and his sister-in-law, Mary Lou Wherry.

A service and interment of ashes will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 18 at the Soldier Cemetery.
