Kay Bottom 1935-2022

Kathryn (Kay) Jane Bottom, 86, of Circleville, passed away at home with loved ones near her side on Monday, Jan. 17, 2022.

Kay was born Aug. 22, 1935, in Goff, daughter of Clarence and Myrtle (Myers) Hittle. Kay graduated from Circleville High School in May of 1954.

She married Kenneth Dean Bottom in December of 1954 in Holton. He preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 1981. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, four brothers and a son-in-law, Steve Tims.

Survivors include Debbie Rogers (Greg) of Oelwein, Iowa, Brenda Tims of Circleville and Craig Bottom (Theresa) of Circleville. Other survivors include nine grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Kay was a homemaker until 1967, when she became a cook and waitress at the Coffee Shop Café in Holton. Later she worked at a Jackson County nursing facility as a food service supervisor for 13 years. Lastly, she ran an in-home daycare for 11 years.

A private family memorial service and inurnment at the Circleville Cemetery will be held at a later date. Cards of condolence may be sent to P.O. Box 15, Circleville, KS 66416. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elara Caring Hospice at 901 N.E. River Side Rd., Topeka, KS 66616.
