Darryl Brown 1961-2022

Darryl “Squankot” Wayne Brown, 60, Topeka, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2022, at his home.

He was born April 18, 1961, in Topeka, the son of Richard L. and Mary Wahweotten Brown. He graduated from Seaman High School.

Mr. Brown was a self-employed painter for most of his life. 

He was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Mary Brown. 

Survivors include a brother, Allan L. Brown and wife Lydia, Mayetta; two nieces, Crystal Madrid and husband Jonny, Topeka, and Melanie Witt, Topeka; and two nephews, Michael Brown, Kansas City, and Anthony Christensen. 

Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21 at Mercer Funeral Home. Private family inurnment will be held in Wahwasuck Family Cemetery at a later date.
