Donald Reding 1940-2021
Donald Francis Reding, 80, Mayetta, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021, at Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center in Topeka.
He was born Aug. 3, 1940, at Wamego, the son of Vincent and Irene Bernritter Reding, and was raised by his mother and stepfather, Cloyd Dreyer, after his father’s death. He graduated from Washburn Rural High School in Topeka in 1958.
Mr. Reding built and worked the family farm near Mayetta, where he raised his family.
He married Connie L. Rickhoff on Nov. 26, 1959, in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Kevin Reding and wife Debbie, Leoti, and Scott Reding, San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Denise Reding, San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Doris Longnecker and husband John; four grandchildren, Megan Robertson and husband Clay, Logan Reding, Drew Reding and wife Becky and Kyle Reding and wife Faith; a great-grandson, Cooper; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vincent Reding; his mother, Irene Fitzgerald; a son, Norman Reding; and a grandson, Lane Reding.
No services are planned at this time.
