Vance Spiker 1981-2019
Vance C. Spiker, 37, Quenemo, died Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at his home.
He was born July 26, 1981, in Westmoreland, the son of Allen D. Wichman and Joyce P. Singleton. He was later adopted by Jared and Amy Spiker. He attended Wetmore High School and later received his GED, then graduated from Manhattan Area Technical College with a certification in automotive collison repair.
He married Caramie A. Wassam on May 24, 2014, in Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include his mother, Joyce Singleton, Blue Rapids; his adopted parents, Jared and Amy Spiker, Holton; two stepchildren, Kylie Grist and Andrew Rowland, both of the home; four sisters, Ashley Dewitt and husband Todd, Blue Rapids, Angie Zimmerman, Waterville, Teresa Shoptese, Blue Rapids, and Traci Koebel and husband Mike, in Missouri; a brother, Camoran Shoptese, Blue Rapids; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Allen D. Wichman.
Family will greet friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton, with John Chiles speaking at the start of the visitation. Cremation will follow.
