Dean Greene 1934-2019

Dean D. Greene, 85, Topeka, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2019, at a local hospital.

Dean was born Feb. 26, 1934 in Circleville, the son of Glenn O. and Myrtle A. (Winters) Greene. He graduated from Soldier High School in 1952.

He worked for Gibson Concrete as a backhoe operator for 36 years, retiring in 1996. After retirement, he worked for U-Haul for 10 years.

Dean married his high school sweetheart, Doris Gibson on July 7, 1953, in Topeka. His wife of 65 years survives.

Other survivors include sons, Dennis Greene and David (Kelly) Greene, all of Gardner; daughter, Kathy (Warren) Deckert, Moundridge; grandchildren, Heather (Matt) Butterfield, Scott (Jessica) Greene, Jake Uhlrich and Casey Uhlrich; great-grandchildren, Ty Greene, Paige Greene and Jaxson Novacek; sisters, Dixie Mannell and Glenna (John) Chiles; and brother, Curtis (Jan) Greene, all of Holton.

Cremation has taken place and no public services are scheduled.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Capper Foundation.
