JoeAnn Farley 1936-2018

JoeAnn Farley, 82, Onaga, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, at the Onaga Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Sept. 17, 1936, near Havensville, the daughter of James and Vetra Sweet Wilson. She graduated from Corning High School in 1955.

Mrs. Farley worked at Trails Café in Holton for many years and as a nurse’s aide at Golden Acres Nursing Home in Onaga for 12 years. She also worked at C.R. Industries in Seneca for 17 years.

She married Elmer John Farley on Jan. 22, 1960, at Cottonwood Falls. He died Dec. 11, 1985. She also was preceded in death by her parents; three daughters-in-law, Lana Sue Farley, Cora Christine Farley and Barbara Hash; a granddaughter, Jerri Ronnebaum; a great-grandson, Brady Strunk; and a sister, Dorothy Belle Durham.

Survivors include two sons, Donald Lee Hash and wife Donna, Beckville, Texas, and Roger L. Farley, Perry; two daughters, Vetra R. Sauvage, Onaga, and Janet K. Ronnebaum and husband Roger, Axtell; two sisters, Betty Lou Farley, Pittsburg, and Barbara Jane Wilson-Kessler, in Florida; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20 at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Onaga. Burial will follow in Corning Cemetery. Mrs. Farley will lie in state at the funeral home, where family and friends will meet from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today (Monday).
