Mark Emberton 1954-2017
Mark Edwin Emberton, 63, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017, in Independence, Mo.
He was born March 17, 1954, in Independence, Mo., to Norville “Rus” Emberton and Jean Dale Jeffries Emberton. Mark had a brother, Steve Schreiber (Dotty) of Independence, Mo.
Mark was a drummer and worked in the music business most of his life. He worked for several music stores in the St. Joseph and Kansas City areas. He was also a factory representative for Gibson Guitars and Roland Corporation U.S. He represented Pearl Drums and was also a clinician for them. His music talent was also passed on to both of his sons. DeAnn and Mark also operated Emberton Photography in Holton from 1988 to 1997.
Mark married DeAnn Bottom on Jan. 16, 1977, in St. Joseph, Mo. They had two sons, Brandon and Derek, and were divorced in 2001. Mark married Denise Thornburg in 2009. They were divorced. He married Vivian Morrison on March 17, 2015, in Blue Springs, Mo. She survives.
Mark was cremated. Memorial services will be held in Krug Park in St. Joseph, Mo., at a later date.
