Dick Greeve 1938-2017
Richard “Dick” Leroy Greeve, 79, Holton, died Saturday, July 15, 2017, at his home.
He was born July 15, 1938, in Abilene, the son of Frank and Ruth Yocky Greeve. He graduated from high school in Topeka.
Mr. Greeve served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957 as a tank driver. He had lived in the Jackson County community for 15 years and previously in Topeka. He worked as a train mechanic at Rockwell in Atchison for seven years and as a pipe-fitter in Fort Worth, Texas, retiring after 10 years.
He married Lillian Simpson in 1960 in Salina. They divorced.
Survivors include a daughter, Tina Greeve, Holton; a brother, Dale Greeve, Topeka; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, David Greeve; a daughter, Sherry Greeve; his stepfather, Don White; a sister, Mary Greeve; two brothers, Bill and John Greeve; and two grandchildren, Lacey Greeve and Cagney Greeve.
Family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
