Thomas McClane 1945-2017
Thomas E. McClane, 72, of Mesa, Ariz., passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Promise Hospital in Mesa, Ariz.
He was born March 20, 1945, in Holton, the son of Galen and Betty (Blue) McClane.
Thomas graduated from Hoyt High School in 1963. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam Era. He spent 50 years in Holton and the surrounding area. Thomas worked as a cement finisher most of his life. He was a member of The Operative Plasterers and Cement Masons Local Union 518, VFW Post #852 (Lawrence) and The Royal Order of The Moose (Mesa, Ariz.).
He married Sharon Pappan on Feb. 25, 1967. They had three sons together, Craig, Dustin, and Willie.
He married Lola Maureen Rickel on Sept. 1, 2001 in Euless, Texas. He gained two daughters from that union, Paula and Rhonda.
Survivors include his wife, Lola, of the home; 3 sons, Craig McClane (Donna) of Topeka, Dustin McClane (Becky) of Hoyt and Willie McClane (Natalie) of Topeka; two daughters, Paula Krasselt of Phoenix, Ariz., and Rhonda Krasselt of Fort Worth, Texas; and 11 grandchildren, Kaleb McClane, Austin McClane, Wesley McClane, Leslie Schuetz, Brooks McClane, Sierra Stauffer, Maggie Schuetz, Lillie Krasselt, Parker McClane, Emma Krasselt and Cooper McClane.
Thomas was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Dennis McClane, and a sister, Linda Lister
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Inurnment will follow in Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday.
