Juanita Pierce 1930-2017
Juanita Opal Pierce, 86, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017 at her home. She was born Dec. 3, 1930 in Soldier, the daughter of Spencer and Edna (Dunn) Chrisman.
Juanita graduated from Soldier High School in 1949. She had lived in Topeka since 2007, Abilene, Texas for 50 years, Germany for three years and California for a year. Juanita was a housewife and homemaker.
Juanita married David Lee Pierce on Aug. 3, 1955 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Lee Pierce in 2007; a sister, Mary Nott in 2006 and two brothers, Clifford Chrisman in 1988 and an infant brother, Kenneth Chrisman and a brother-in-law, Claude Nott in 2001.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Lee Pierce, Kimberly R. Pierce and David A. Pierce all Texas; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jean Chrisman Rutz of Holton and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Inurnment will follow at Olive Hill Cemetery.
